New Favorite Class!

I have been hitting the gym and using my membership to the fullest (along with 500 newbies..can't wait till February)! I use to hit a few of my favorite classes, Bodypump and Spin and I would try a new one here and there..Zumba (NO) and Insanity. I don't like Zumba...I am a hot mess in that class and I love Insanity but the times are not convenient for me.

However I found a new class I absolutely love! I found myself smiling in the class at random times just because it felt soooooooo good! It's called PiYo!! Amazing! Here is a short video about PiYo! I have never been a yoga person and therefore I lacked the flex training but this is one way I have been getting it in! Our gym only offers it 2 times a week (Friday and Sunday mornings) So the classes are super full so usually Jen, Lorri, and I get there about 30 minutes early and set up our mats and wait for class to start!

This is PiYo, can you see the sweat on the mirrors?!

I won a Starbucks gift card from
So I went to my favorite class PiYo..
..and then treated myself with coffee!

If you can find any Piyo classes I highly suggest trying it out!! So fun and I am not kidding the time flies in there!

Baby It's Cold Outside..

...like, real feel of 3 degrees! I don't enjoy running in weather lower than freezing! I have run in 20 degree weather and I survived with snot frozen to my face (Yuck) and I did not enjoy it one bit!
I wish I enjoyed the cold like this Polar Bear!

I actually enjoy running in anywhere in between 40 and 55 degree weather!

So, what am I doing while the weather is sooooooooo cold? Well, trying to get to the gym to cross train. My plan was to get back in the swing of things once the kids were at school and back on a good schedule. Well, Mother Nature had something else planned! We made it to the first day back to school on Monday and, because the weather was somewhat good (30's), we opted to run outdoors, with the plan to hit Body Pump on Tuesday and Spin on Wednesday!

Tuesday rolls around and there is a snow storm and, instead of our county canceling school, they had school, but my son's bus was about 30 minutes late (and he stood outside at 6:30 am and waited), and my daughter's bus was 15 minutes late. So, we are thinking we would still make it to Body Pump. But the traffic was so bad, Body Pump was almost over by the time we got there. Ugh! Our county really should have closed the school! It was a little crazy here.
Ok... Ok....we actually only got a couple inches of
snow...but this is how much everyone thought
we got!!!

Wednesday, we were already thinking there was going to be a delay and there was so, we missed our Spin class..but we went to the gym anyway and went into the Spin room and made our own Spin class! It wasn't awesome, but it was still something!

Thursday, it's so cold they canceled school altogether and I took a rest day! Actually, I took the kids to the mall and we scored big time at Bath and Body Works!!! Whoohooo! I love smell-good soaps!! :)

Today, there is a 2 hour delay, so Jen and I are squeezing the gym in between the middle school and elementary school buses! We won't get to do our new favorite class, PiYo, but, hey, at least we are going to the gym!!!

Hopefully, next week we can get back on schedule!

How crazy has your first week back after winter break been? Was it as crazy as mine?

Sunny's New Year Resolutions!

I was really having a hard time coming up with a New Year Resolution for 2015! I met my goals for 2014.
2014 my Resolutions were to:
-Run a Faster Half Marathon! Done!

Fastest Half!!

-Accept that I cannot change certain parts of my body...my legs and calves! Done!
-Cross-train More! Well, I started off with a bang at the beginning of the year and I ended the year with a bang...the middle of the year...well, let's not talk about that!

So this year I was having a hard time coming up with something. So I went out for my New Year Resolution run on January 1st and I thought about it...

New Year Resolution 5k. Very slow because Somebody
peed on every pole, bush, and blade of grass, said "hi" to everyone
we passed, and pooped 3 times!

...and I realized something while I was out there running. Although I have accepted that I will be forever blessed with my legs...I kinda slipped up this past year and have gotten a little, um...squishy. I have no problems in the working out department..I love to workout. My eating on the other hand is not great! I love food and beer!

So this year I want to get back to basics with my eating! Does this mean I am going to always say "no, thank you" to dessert, pasta, and beer...absolutely not! I think going cold turkey in my case sets me up for failure. I will binge if I do that! I have been working hard through the holidays and I have been doing 5 days of clean eating and 2 cheat days (within reason). It's working! I actually lost 6 pounds during the holidays!!

So this year my Resolutions are:
1. Eat cleaner and work on sculpting my body back to where it was a year and half ago.
2. Cross-Train more...hey, I can do it!
3. Do a bridge in Yoga!

What are your New Year's Resolutions or Goals? How did you do with last year's resolutions?
